Data protection module: Online and video consultations (video calls)
1. Purpose and scope of data processing
We offer the option of conducting consultations via video call on our website (e.g., for an initial visual assessment of moisture damage, leaks, or for technical consultations). When you use this service, personal data as well as image and audio data will be processed.
The data processed includes, in particular:
- Master data: Name, title, contact details (e.g. email address, telephone number).
- Communication data: Content data of the conversation, visual and acoustic transmission data (camera and microphone signal).
- Metadata / Technical data: IP address, date and time of connection, session ID, device/operating system used.
2. Legal basis for processing
The processing of this data takes place as follows:
- for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR), insofar as the video consultation is part of an engagement or consultation,
- based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR), which you give before the start of the video call by ticking the corresponding checkbox.
3. No recording (default)
No automatic recording of images or sound takes place during the video call .
(Note: Should it be necessary in individual cases to document damage by recording or taking screenshots, your explicit, separate consent will be obtained beforehand.)
4. Use of service providers (data processors)
We use an external video conferencing service provider for the technical implementation of the video calls.
- Service provider: Jitsi Meet
- Address and privacy policy of the provider: see www.jitsi.com
A data processing agreement (DPA) pursuant to Article 28 GDPR has been concluded with the service provider. If data is processed outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure compliance with the European level of data protection through appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
5. Storage duration
The image and audio data transmitted during the video call are not saved after the call ends. Technical metadata (e.g., connection logs) are retained only as long as necessary to ensure technical operation and IT security. Documentation data from the consultation (e.g., notes on the incident) are stored in accordance with statutory retention periods.
6. Your rights
You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.
